Job Title: Blending Manager
Summary: The Blending Manager is responsible for providing leadership to the blending organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage/Develop blending team leads/supervisors, blending technicians, ingredient control supervisor and ingredient control technicians by providing direct reports with leadership, direction, and coaching to achieve work objectives and improve performance and skills.
- Develop/Administer the Blending department's budget.
- Oversee blending operations to ensure that testing of products and ingredients meet specifications as well as ensuring all documentation protocols are followed.
- Manage the sanitation and maintenance of coolers, freezers, tank farms, blend rooms and ingredient storage locations.
- Interpret data from routine and non-routine analyses to validate what ingredients/materials/finished products meet specifications and approve for shipment to Company plants. Coordinate and Analyze raw data for Process Capabilities.
- Manage Service contracts and Troubleshooting/Setup for Equipment in collaboration with Engineering.
- Interact with and inform suppliers, internal/external customers, and third-party auditors with regard to sample analysis, auditing processes, quality issues/resolutions.
- Create and maintain SOPs for all aspects of Blending and Ingredient Control.
- Verify and Maintain Ingredient inventory; Enforce F.E.F.O principles.
- Adjust Blending and Kitting schedules to meet Production needs.
- Arrange to be present for Blending and Kitting of new or difficult products.
- Respond to calls/emails at all times possible if there is an issue or question relating to any Blending needs.
- Create and maintain customer formulas in CBG format.
- Food Defense Coordinator.
- HACCP/Food Safety Coordinator.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree; or seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses or Technical Knowledge:
Experience and advance knowledge of beverage laboratory equipment including automatic titrators, densitometers, HPLC, Experience with water treatment processes such as reverse osmosis, nano/ultra filtration, and ion exchange.
