We are seeking a skilled and experienced Black Seal High Pressure Boiler Operator/Mechanic to join our client’s team in Rahway, NJ. This position is ideal for a proactive, safety-conscious professional with experience in high-pressure boiler operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance in a manufacturing or production environment. The successful candidate will hold a Black Seal High Pressure Boiler License and possess expertise in mechanical maintenance, plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, and millwright tasks.

Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rate: DoE
2nd Shift – 3 pm – 11:30 pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain high-pressure boilers, ensuring safe and efficient operation at all times.
- Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on boiler systems.
- Respond promptly to production line or boiler issues, including troubleshooting, adjustments, and repairs.
- Ensure that all boiler operations comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Conduct monthly preventive maintenance procedures on the equipment.
- Oversee line size changeovers and assist with deep cleaning and sanitization of production lines.
- Maintain accurate records of boiler performance, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Group Leader, Supervisor, and team to complete assigned work orders.
- Perform dismantling, reassembly, and reinstallation of industrial equipment as required during maintenance tasks.
- Handle the removal, disassembly, reassembly, and installation of pistons during washout procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with plumbing, electrical systems, and other mechanical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with GMP standards and company safety policies.
- Assist in managing spare parts inventory and requisitioning supplies as needed.
- Participate in safety training and monthly safety inspections.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent trade school training).
- 3+ years of experience in high-pressure boiler operations or facilities maintenance in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Must possess a valid Black Seal High Pressure Boiler License.
- Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and millwright tasks.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, and policies.
- Experience with high-speed packaging line maintenance and industrial equipment.
- Skilled in using power tools, machine shop equipment (Lathe, End Mill, etc.), and basic welding.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks (climbing, kneeling, etc.).
- Ability to work in outdoor environments with exposure to moderate noise levels and potential hazardous conditions.
- Experience with basic PLC troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces).
- Advanced electrical, plumbing, and machine shop capabilities.
