We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join a growing and dynamic team with a leading Biotech company. The Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records while providing strategic guidance to support our company's growth and success.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and collaborate with department heads to develop accurate forecasts for revenue, expenses, and cash flow
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry-specific regulations such as FDA guidelines for financial reporting in the biotech sector
- Audit Support: Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits, including providing documentation, answering inquiries, and implementing audit recommendations
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality work and professional development
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance internal controls, and leverage technology solutions to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Strategic Analysis: Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data, evaluate business performance, and provide insights to support strategic decision-making and long-term planning
- Special Projects: Lead or participate in special projects as assigned, such as system implementations, mergers and acquisitions, or process redesign initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
- Strong Knowledge of NetSuite
- Strong technical accounting skills and proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and cost accounting principles
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights to non-financial stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
