About the Job
Bioinformatics Analyst for Computational Sciences Immunology at *** We seek a self-motivated, independent, and creative scientist to support computational research within our Computational Sciences Immunology team. We have a team of skilled bioinformatics researchers working in a highly collaborative environment with both biomarker and drug discovery scientists. This role will focus on analyzing sequencing data from pre-clinical studies to look for mechanisms of action and potential biomarkers.
Duties
1. Perform comprehensive analysis of various NGS data sets including bulk RNA-seq and single-cell genomic studies.
2. Act as an analyst on an NGS project, going from data exploration and normalization, differential gene expression, pathway analysis, to producing compelling data visualizations and presentations to colleagues.
3. Complement existing code to generate specific plots and subsequent analysis from existing project data, or perform one-off analyses of individual studies.
Skills
1. Strong statistical analysis and computational skills, including basic proficiency using Linux-based servers and high level of proficiency with the R programming language and packages such as ggplot2.
2. Relevant experience for dealing with large datasets: batch effect detection and normalization, and confounding and covariate adjustment.
3. Experience organizing and documenting code.
4. Strong communication skills including presenting and interpreting biology focused results especially focused on immunology.
5. A recent PhD graduate in bioinformatics, genomics, or computational biology.
Experience with analysis of single-cell RNA sequencing data is a plus but not essential.
