Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree in biological, biochemistry, engineering, or chemical science with at least 4 years of relevant experience, OR MS degree with 2+ years, OR PhD with 0-1 year.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Hands-on experience with laboratory automation (Biomek or Tecan systems) and/or analytical methods (HPLC, LC-MS, spectrophotometry, gel electrophoresis, FPLC).
• Skills in high-throughput screening, automated liquid handling, and chemical/biochemical solution preparation.
• Proficient in experimental design and data analysis with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

• Expertise in HPLC and LC-MS, ideally Agilent systems.
• Protein characterization and purification, and molecular biology experience.
• Industry experience is preferred.

Personality:

• Team player, independent, detail-oriented, adaptable, and quick learner.

Responsibilities:

• Design and engineer enzymes and therapeutic proteins/peptides to support drug discovery.
• Conduct DNA manipulation for enzyme production, prepare reactions, perform quenching, and set up for HPLC or MS analysis.
• Analyze data to support protein-directed evolution workflows.

Comments/Special Instructions:
Position is onsite at Rahway, NJ. 12-month lab-based role with a possibility of extension.
