Position Overview
BIM Manager/Job Captain III works under the direction of the Studio Director supporting Project Managers, assisting with creation of BIM standards and guidelines.
Functions of Position
- Assist the Project Manager and/or Project Architect in the development of projects from design through construction.
- Assist the project managers and project architects in the review of shop drawings, RFI's during construction administration.
- Provide support to Project Managers and/or Project Architects in managing client relationships.
- Assist Project Managers in developing responses to entitlement comments and building department plan review comments.
- Collaborate with Senior Architects to learn and understand building codes.
- Compile and distribute meeting minutes.
- Pursue continuing education while actively working on Architecture licensure.
- Assist the project managers and project architects in the code research, zoning regulations and accessibility standards to ensure the success of the project.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and vendors for successful project implementation.
- Oversee the day-to-day work of the Architectural Interns and Job Captains.
- Work on multiple projects of varying size and complexity.
- Manage Autodesk BIM Collaboration Pro (BIM 360).
- Manage Autodesk software updates.
- Review project models between phases. Archive, audit and upgrade models as necessary.
- Research Add-ins, Dynamo, new features, and modeling tips/ solutions.
- Create new families for LGE family library and modify existing families.
- Update templates and create update log.
- Create Revit templates for various project types.
- Provide basic and advanced Revit training - 1v1, small group, large group.
- Provide new detail library template that can be linked to project file(s).
- Create LGE BIM standards and guidelines.
