The BIM Coordinator for Mechanical Construction will be responsible for managing and coordinating Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes related to mechanical systems within construction projects. This role aims to enhance collaboration between various teams, streamline project workflows, and ensure the accuracy and quality of mechanical designs through effective BIM practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the BIM execution plan for mechanical construction projects.
- Coordinate with MEP design teams to ensure accurate and efficient integration of mechanical systems into the BIM model.
- Facilitate communication between different stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and construction teams.
- Review and resolve clashes in the BIM model, particularly related to mechanical systems such as HVAC and plumbing.
- Conduct regular BIM coordination meetings to track project progress and address any issues.
- Provide technical support and training to team members on BIM software and tools.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in BIM and mechanical engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in BIM coordination within the mechanical construction industry.
- Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems including HVAC and plumbing.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of MEP design principles and coordination is a plus.
- Experience with VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) processes is desirable.
