Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Billing Specialist to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal billing, specifically with 4+ years of experience in law firm billing processes, including Aderant billing software and eBilling platforms. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage aged accounts effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process client invoices using Aderant and other billing systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client guidelines.
- Manage the eBilling submission process, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting on various eBilling platforms (e.g., Legal Tracker, Serengeti, CounselLink).
- Collaborate with attorneys, legal assistants, and clients to address billing inquiries and discrepancies promptly and professionally.
- Reconcile aged accounts, perform account audits, and coordinate collection efforts for overdue invoices.
- Monitor and maintain billing compliance with contractual terms and conditions, including ensuring proper timekeeper rates and billing formats.
- Generate and analyze billing reports, including productivity and collections reports, for management review.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on billing procedures and software use.
- Stay updated on industry trends, software updates, and billing best practices.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of legal billing experience in a law firm setting.
- Proficiency in Aderant billing software is required.
- Hands-on experience with eBilling platforms and understanding of client billing requirements.
- Proven ability to manage and resolve aged accounts effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for reporting purposes.
- Familiarity with collections processes and legal industry billing standards is a plus.
