Billing Specialist (REMOTE/HYBRID) - Pyramid Healthcare Inc.

·        Reviewing patient bills for accuracy and completeness, and obtaining any missing information.

·        Preparing, reviewing and transmitting claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing.

·        Correcting all electronic payer edits and resubmission of claims

·        Identifying and billing secondary or tertiary insurances.

·        Other duties as deemed necessary.

Technical Competencies:

·        Accuracy of Mathematics

·        Accuracy of data entry

·        Ability to work with clinical staff

·        Ability to work with insurance companies

·        Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines

·        Demonstrates good customer service skills

Education, Experience:

High school diploma is required.  Minimum of Two (2) year experience in medical billing  Post-Secondary education preferred

Job-related Behavioral Characteristics:

Prior experience in a medical billing office. Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations, knowledge of facility contracts and agreements. Knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of appeal and denial process Knowledge of composition if medical records, knowledge of data entry (primarily excel) and mathematics, knowledge of pre-certification process. Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of CARF standards, knowledge of Release of information and Confidentiality. Demonstrates the use of 10key calculator, Fax, PC Knowledge, Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) copier.
