Description
As a Billing Specialist you will be responsible for overseeing the billing process for customers, patients, and MVP platforms. This position performs many accounting, customer service, and organizational tasks to promote the financial health of the organization.

What you will be doing
The Medical Payment Posting & Reconciliation Specialist will manage accounts receivable billing and collection of payments for all designated payers and designated locations. This will include posting both patient payments as well as payment from insurance companies. He/She will monitor A/R aging, collect balances, manage and reconcile all payments and ensure it is posted into the patient’s account with the correct amount and adjustment.
Daily cash reporting
- Post credit card payments to patient accounts
- Post denials to patient accounts
- Knowledge of EOBs, EFTs and ERAs
- Transfer copay/coinsurance and deductible balances to patient responsibility
- Download payments received from insurance carriers for Vision & Medical claims
- Post contractual adjustments to patient accounts
- Assist other projects as needed
- Assist other members of the team as needed
- Other duties as assigned
What you know
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledgeable in ICD-10 & CPT Codes
Desired
- One (1) or more years of customer service experience
- Ophthalmology, Optometry, Ambulatory Surgery Center, and/or Optical billing experience
- Experience in Revenue Cycle Management
