Billing Specialist I
The Billing Specialist process patient and insurance billing payment for services renders at Premier Community HealthCare Group (PCHG). Provides support in all areas of the billing department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Addresses payment and denial postings, balancing and daily close.
- Works with patients directly on patient accounts, insurance claims, and initiates check requests for patient refunds when needed.
- Assist with site daily balancing and preparing banking slips.
- Escalates complex billing issues or patient concerns as appropriate.
- Exhibits and promotes Core Values and is actively engaged in promoting a positive work environment and service excellence.
- Ensures safety and compliance protocols are followed in accordance with PCHG and regulatory policies.
- Provide suggestions for positive changes within the office.
- Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times
- Keep other care team members informed when situations occur that disrupts timely patient flow through site.
- Contribute to community give back initiatives and be an advocate for Premier’s mission
- Adhere to patient care needs and the core values of Premier Community HealthCare to a provide best-in-class patient experience
- Work towards attaining department goals and drive Quality Improvement / Quality Assurance (QI/QA)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- General understanding of billing processes and procedures to be able to meet daily expectations.
- Maintains knowledge of billing and revenue cycle regulations and best practices.
- Strong attention to detail and quality assurance.
- Adaptable and proactive in understanding and implementing changes in data technology, service delivery models, regulations as these continue to evolve.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in using a computer and office software.
- Obtain and maintain Epic certification/ annual compliance throughout employment
