This role sits in Cumberland, RI; Hybrid - in office onTuesdays and Wednesdays and from home Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Job Summary
Responsible for providing expertise, analysis, andsolutions to complex supplier coordination (ESG), billing, regulatoryprocesses, and technical problems with a focus on improving operationaleffectiveness and excellence. The Billing Specialist has knowledge andunderstanding of supplier activities, billing processes and the systems tosupport the tasks. Proactive monitoring is performed to identify potentialconcerns. This position is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for projects thatimpact billing and ESG billing and enhances other\'s understanding of businessprocesses and systems.
Job Responsibilities
1. Provide analysis and solutions to complex billing.
2. Enhance other\'s understanding of end-to-end meter tocash processes.
3. Review and create detailed documentation of businessprocesses and the use of associated systems.
4. Monitor and analyze various system control reports, todetermine root cause and resolution.
5. Implement new controls.
6. Develop training and advise others.
7. Perform account data repairs to allow system users toproceed with customer billing.
8. Develop and maintain effective relationships withinternal customers and ESG.
9. Investigate and respond to inquiries from internal andexternal customers, i.e. Call Center, Business Accounts, and/or Suppliers.
10. Identify opportunities to use information technologyto improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes.
11. Define requirements, prepare process flows, test, andimplement billing processes and system improvement changes due to Regulatoryorders or business process improvements to streamline processes and reducebilling costs.
12. Assist with business case preparation.
13. Prepare clear, concise, comprehensive communicationswith minimal supervision.
14. Facilitate meetings and deliver presentations.
15. Establish and maintain effective workingrelationships with all departments in PPL Electric Utilities as well asregulatory agencies.
16. Physical presence in the office/on-site to engage inface-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports andco-workers.
17. May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency andstorm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms andother emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to otherissues affecting customer service. This role may necessitate the need to workafter-hours, outside of your normal schedule.
Billing Specialist
Basic Qualifications
1. Bachelor\'s Degree OR minimum of 3 years of equivalentexperience.
2. Minimum of 3 years\' experience in the energy industryis preferred with a focus on the appropriate one of the following: billing,ESG-EDI transmissions, credit and collections, business operations andplanning, customer service, regulatory and or finance.
3. Knowledge of customer service systems
4. Knowledge of billing, suppliers, and metering
5. Knowledge of regulatory rules
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
2. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs:Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
3. Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
4. Excellent oral and written communication andinterpersonal skills.
5. Ability to function efficiently and effectively in afast-paced, dynamic team environment.
