Billing Specialist at Cassiday Schade LLP

Cassiday Schade LLP, a mid-sized litigation defense law firm headquartered in the Chicago Loop is looking for a motivated Legal Billing Specialist to join their team. Cassiday Schade offers an excellent working environment and benefits.

This role is responsible for editing and processing client invoices pursuant to attorney instructions and client guidelines. Communication is essential as well as keen attention to detail in order it effectively manage the workload. The ideal candidate is organized, service oriented and has experience with automated time and billing systems. This is a high-volume workload position where the ability to prioritize is key.

Primarily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Communicates professionally and courteously with partners, attorneys, staff, client and client vendors while maintaining confidentiality of client and firm matters
• Monitors client guidelines to ensure billing entries are compliant and invoices are submitted timely and accurately
• Produces proformas and finalizes attorney edits
• Maintains file information including but not limited to attorney rates, payor contacts and billing methods
• Uploads electronic bills and maintains firm information on 3rd party billing websites
• Submits appeals in a timely and effective manner
• Submits balances for write offs to Accounts Receivable when appeals are rejected
• Follows up with Billing Attorneys and others in order to resolve client billing issues (i.e. missing budgets or a matter is not on the website) to ensure invoices are approved for payment
• Conducts research with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable to resolve outstanding issues
• Miscellaneous projects as assigned by Management

Job Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Exhibits strong organization and attention to detail
• Ability to identify and reconcile discrepancies
• Proficiencies in Microsoft Word and Outlook
• Fundamental Microsoft Excel skills
• Associates Degree required, Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
• Aderant experience preferred
• Law firm background desired
