Description
As a Billing Specialist you will be responsible for overseeing the billing process for customers, patients, and MVP platforms. This position performs many accounting, customer service, and organizational tasks to promote the financial health of the organization.

8am to 430pm or 830am to 5pm

What you will be doing
The role will be billing primarily surgical professional billing and facility billing but will
need to be able to do office charges as well. Ophthalmology/Optometry experience is
preferred but not required.
What you will be doing
● Problem solving to reconcile outstanding balances from insurances and patients
● Discussing open balances with patients and collect payment accordingly
● Maintaining collection agency accounts
● Placing outgoing calls to insurance companies and patients to resolve outstanding
claims/balances
● Exhibiting knowledge of medical insurance and proper use of computer software
● Posting charges, payments and adjustments in Allscripts Practice Management
software
● Communicating effectively and professionally with physicians, co-workers,
managements and patients
● Performing general office duties and other duties as assigned

What you know
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledgeable in ICD-10 & CPT Codes
- Preferred CPC or COC certification
Desired
- One (1) or more years of customer service experience
- Ophthalmology, Optometry, Ambulatory Surgery Center, and/or Optical billing experience
- Experience in Revenue Cycle Management
