Job Summary:
The Director of Finance & Accounting is responsible for managing the hotels financial operations, ensuring sound financial planning, accurate accounting, and regulatory compliance. This role involves overseeing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and strategic analysis to enhance the propertys financial performance. The Director of Finance & Accounting will collaborate closely with hotel leadership to optimize profitability, manage cash flow, and support long-term growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the hotels accounting operations, including the preparation of financial statements, monthly reports, and variance analysis.
- Develop, implement, and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial strategies to achieve hotel objectives.
- Manage and oversee all financial processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and audits.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal laws and regulations, as well as adherence to internal controls and policies.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to hotel management, owners, and stakeholders to drive strategic decision-making.
- Monitor cash flow, capital expenditures, and liquidity to ensure financial stability and growth.
- Partner with department heads to support operational efficiency and effective financial management.
- Supervise and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct financial analyses to assess the hotels performance, identify trends, and recommend cost-saving initiatives or revenue enhancements.
- Ensure proper tax planning, filing, and reporting in accordance with legal requirements.
- Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, lenders, and investors as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- Extensive experience in hotel finance.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial management principles.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, financial forecasts, and financial reporting.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and property management systems (e.g., Opera, Micros, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Salary Range is $170k-$190k.
