We are seeking a new leader to join our terrific seven-person Accounting team: Director of Accounting/Controller. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer and partnering with her, the Accounting Manager and the four other accountants, the Director of Accounting/Controller will work closely with the Executive Director, senior leadership and program leaders across the Neighborhood House to ensure accounting, financial and programmatic success for our clients and our historic multiservice organization with a $25M budget.

The Director of Accounting/Controller will:
- Help lead all accounting areas including financial reporting; budgets and projections (organizational, program, government, foundation); government grant compliance; financial operations; risk analysis; and forecasting and financial planning. If it involves accounting and finance, the Director of Accounting/Controller will be involved.
- Oversee all audits and work closely with outside auditors: independent, government, 403(b), workers comp, and more.
- Review and analyze financial results and lead financial analysis.
- Manage key programmatic accounting functions (e.g., payroll, AP, invoicing, etc.).
- Recommend and implement process improvements.
- Help supervise our accounting team.
- Help advise the Board of Directors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in accounting required; Masters degree in accounting highly preferred.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- Minimum of eight years of experience in nonprofit accounting and auditing.
- Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Public auditing experience a plus.
- High proficiency in the use of financial software applications (we use Financial Edge) and advanced proficiency in Excel required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Salary range: Starting at$170,000 - $185,000
