Job Summary:
The Billing Assistant is responsible for the support of the accounts receivable team. Weekly assignments are provided by the Senior Billing Assistant and the billing assistant must develop a plan to complete work lists by end of week. Billing assistants must comply with applicable laws regarding billing standards and be able to operate in a team-oriented environment that strives to provide superior service to anesthesia providers throughout the country.
Essential Functions and Tasks:
- Print, sort and review claim forms for correct payer setup for assigned clients located in the Medsuite task tab.
- Print requests located in the Medsuite imaging tab and review requests for any additional information to be included when processed.
- Print medical records needed for insurance requests.
- Process attorney medical record requests.
- Prepare claims and medical records requests for mailing.
- Assist other team members with work assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One (1) year in data entry field.
- One (1) year in medical billing preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to make decisions in a timely fashion that are sound, accurate and supported by the reasoning and inclusion of appropriate people.
- Must be able to interact well with all kinds of people.
- Must be able to prioritize and accomplish objectives in a timely fashion.
- Basic use of computer, telephone, internet, copier, fax, and scanner.
- Become proficient in use of Medsuite software within 4 weeks.
- Maintain proficiency in use of Medsuite software.
- Touch-typing skills, 40 wpm required, 50 wpm preferred.
- Basic touch 10 key skills.
- Understand and comply with company policies and procedures.
- Basic knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel.

- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
