About the Job
Resource Innovations is currently seeking a Billing Assistant / Associate Project Accountant to support billing and project set-up for its US-based business units. This position will be based at our corporate office in Half Moon Bay and will report to the Project Accounting Manager.
This person will be responsible for project set-up within the accounting; billing clients for Software sales, Time & Materials and Fixed Price contracts, and other support as required. This generally includes but is not limited to contract and project set-up, update and maintain project information and budgets within the project accounting system which will result in sound project management; and prepare appropriate client invoices. He/she will also work with the business unit Project Managers in the collection of the outstanding receivables.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Contract and Project Setup: Review contract terms and set up/close projects, review and confirm revenue and billing formulas in Oracle accounting system
- Invoice preparation: Generate and issue invoices accurately and timely for products and services rendered.
- Data Entry: Maintain accurate records of transactions, billing, and payments in the accounting software.
- Customer Communication: Communicate with customers regarding billing inquiries, payment terms, and outstanding balances.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies in billing and payments.
- Assist Audits: Provide necessary documentation and support during internal and external audits.
- Show initiative, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing required changes
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- B.A. degree in accounting or B.A. / B.S. Degree in related field
- Less than 1 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in an engineering consulting, technology or related firms is required; at least 1 year experience preferred
- Oracle experience is a plus
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office systems, including Excel and Word
- Keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to multi-task
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team player who can identify and initiate process improvements
- High level of initiative and ability to meet deadlines
- Familiar with a variety of accounting concepts, terminology, practices and procedures
- Ability to follow through on commitments and demonstrate ownership of results

The compensation range for this exempt position is $50,000 - 65,000. The stated range is based on a good faith estimate of the compensation range for the duties, responsibilities and skills / experience required for the position. Starting pay will be dependent on experience and internal equity. This range may be exceeded for well-qualified candidates, especially with industry experience.
