POSITION SUMMARY:
The Bilingual Day Shift Coordinator is a full-time position and reports to the Assistant Program Director. The Coordinator is responsible for supporting Assistant Program Director in the overall organization and ongoing development of an assigned residential setting during the daytime shift, including intakes, transport to classrooms and safety. Coordinator monitors the interactions of staff and youth to ensure appropriate service delivery in a safe and nurturing environment. Coordinator monitors the job site, intervenes in crisis situations and supervises personnel. The Bilingual Day Shift Coordinator is a grant position funded by the Office of Refugee Resettlement and any successor funding.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervises staff on the daytime shift who provide services for the residential care of Maryville youth;
- Implements, under guidance of Assistant Program Director, organizational procedures to ensure a daily routine in the program. Such procedures include those pertaining to staff/home schedules, logistics and transportation, logs, and other organizational tools;
- Oversees intakes and discharges in the residential home, in coordination with the Assistant Program Director and case manager;
- Provides monthly staff schedules of all shifts to the Assistant Program Director for approval and posting, taking into account approved time off;
- Coordinates with the care team to ensure a schedule that includes weekday classes and recreation as well as weekend case management meetings and calls, clinician meetings and calls, and safe recreational and leisure activities;
- Supports the Assistant Program Director in developing orders for food, clothing and hygiene supplies, using central purchasing and inventory system;
- Coordinates and/or leads off-campus excursions, as approved by program leadership;
- Provides feedback to day staff on their implementation of Maryville policies and procedures and maintenance of professional standards.
- Documents incidents in Significant Incident Reports, Child Level Events and Internal Reports;
- Reviews documentation and administrative form completion for accuracy and effectiveness, including shift logs, daily case entry logs, Significant Incident Reports, visitation logs, sign in/out log, and medical logs, and others, as required by ORR;
- Monitors staff compliance with required reporting;
- Ensures staff preparation of evening meals and snacks in accord with menus and standards;
- Participates in and leads staff training and huddles;
- Participates in continued performance quality improvement;
- Implements the Maryville’s policy on Zero Tolerance to Sexual Abuse;
- Assures that all activities are conducted with appropriate precautions taken for the safety of the participants;
- Implements emergency routines and procedures as necessary;
- Reports on activities and communicates all concerns to supervisor;
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and two years of residential childcare experience;
- Successful completion of all staff education requirements including: Pre-Service training, NCI, CPR, and ARC Model;
- Must possess a valid driver’s license;
- Minimum 25 years of age.
Skills /Knowledge:
- Bilingual English/Spanish language competency required;
Ability to use good judgment and think quickly and rationally in stressful situations;
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to children and colleagues;
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally in writing with Maryville youth, supervisors, coworkers, subordinates, support agencies, and a variety of internal as well as external consumers.
Ability to establish trust and positive rapport with children, and work within ethical boundaries;
Ability to effectively prioritize job duties and needs of the children;
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) and documentation programs;
Ability to drive a passenger van.
Physical Demands:
- Required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and drive for extended periods of time; ability to walk up and down stairs;
- Required to lift/move objects and/or youth weighing in excess of 40 pounds;
- Must possess ability to provide physical restraint to youth;
- Must have the visual, hearing, and learning capabilities sufficient to perform the essential job functions defined above.
Environment and Scheduling:
- Will perform work primarily in, and in association with, one or more of Maryville program settings; as well, but not limited to, recreational facilities, places of worship, court rooms, hospitals, and various community settings;
- Must be flexible and available to work additional hours when necessary;
- May be scheduled to work on weekends and/or holidays.
- Duties involve contact with youth who may be traumatized;
- Must maintain an on-call status
- May be scheduled to work on weekends and/or holidays.

All employees who have access to health information whose confidentiality is protected by the HIPAA Privacy Rule are required by the Rule to receive training so that they have an understanding and knowledge of the Privacy Rule that corresponds to their job responsibilities and of the group health plan’s policies and procedures that impact on their job duties. Site specific training on requirements of the HIPAA Privacy Rule and the plan’s health information policies and procedures under the direction of the plan privacy officer may be required for this position based upon site specific requirements. Employees who violate the requirements of the HIPAA Privacy Rule will be subject to discipline, up to and including termination.

Salary:
$52,000 to $53,000 Per Year
