Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and friendly Bilingual Medical Front Desk Receptionist (fluent in Spanish) to join our healthcare facility team. In this role, you will manage our front office operations, greet patients, schedule appointments, and handle a variety of administrative tasks essential for smooth daily operations. This position combines customer service expertise, knowledge of healthcare practices, and an understanding of medical terminology to enhance patient experience and ensure a welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Interaction: Welcome and check in patients professionally, confirm patient information, verify insurance details, and update records as necessary.
- Appointment Scheduling: Schedule appointments, manage cancellations and reschedules, maintain an organized calendar, and assist in optimizing the appointment schedule. Confirm appointments and send reminders as appropriate.
- Administrative Support: Handle incoming calls professionally, answer patient inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate department or healthcare provider. Relay important messages accurately and promptly.
- Insurance & Billing: Verify patient insurance coverage, assist with basic billing inquiries, collect copayments, and direct complex questions to the billing department.
- Documentation & Patient Referrals: Prepare necessary documentation for medical staff, assist with patient referrals, and handle prior authorizations as required.
- Reception Area Management: Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming. Disinfect surfaces and manage seating to promote patient comfort and safety.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in office management is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience as a receptionist in a medical or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Skills:
- Fluency in Spanish required.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, such as Athena.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and healthcare insurance policies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple appointments efficiently.
