About the Job
Vascular Surgeons Office is currently seeking a full-time Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) for our office in Fort Worth and surrounding areas.
NRCMA is under the direction of the health care provider and practice administrator, the Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for the delivery of patient care that promotes the safety and well-being of all patients. Accurately performs preliminary vitals such as: measuring blood pressure, recording weight, temperature, pulse and respiration and other measures as directed by established clinical protocols.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm - No Weekends/No Call
NRCMA Requirements:
- Applicants must have at minimum two years of recent physician and/or surgical office experience.
- NRCMA certification from an accredited program, such as American Association of Medical Assistants or the American Medical Technologists.
- Applicants must want to learn vascular medicine and develop from the knowledge learned in the office.
- Surgery scheduling, insurance verification, pre-certifications and authorizations are a requirement.
- NextGen EHR experience strongly preferred but EHR experience is required.
- Performs general patient and wound care by following established office standards and procedures.
- Schedule patients for diagnostic testing and follows up to ensure completion of testing.
- Documents patient plan(s) of care, reason for visit, testing and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.
- Prepares, cleans and sterilizes instruments and maintains equipment logs, disposing of contaminated items according to protocol. Keeps patient exam rooms stocked, clean and orderly.
- ACLS and BLS are required or must obtained within the first 6 months of employment.
Qualifications:
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff, patients and physicians.
- Demonstrates sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations.
- Maintains a positive, caring attitude towards patients and families.
- Good computer skills using a medical management application (EHR).
- Possesses a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
- Must be reliable/dependable during work hours, as traveling to other office locations will be required.
- Must have reliable transportation, as traveling to other office locations may be required. Mileage reimbursement to be discussed during interview.
- Bilingual - required.
