GEOMET is seeking to fill the position of Human Resources Associate. This full-time, on-site position will require you to perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s human resource department.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation. Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records. Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Provides education and training to employees and/or supervisors on the Human Resources Information System.
- Assists the training coordinator with the maintenance of the Learning Management System. Produces reports as needed.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate manager.
- Orients employees in the various benefit plans as well as provides direction on the enrollment process. Assist with the annual enrollment process.
- May assist with payroll functions to include answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks. Serves as a back up for payroll processing.
- Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers.
- Conducts or assists with the pre-employment and on-boarding process.
- Assists with planning and execution of employee engagement events such as organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, and holiday parties.
- Assist with sourcing and recruiting for the various departments. Assist with the scheduling of candidates for interviews.
- Oversees the employee uniform program (ordering of uniforms, changes, etc.).
- Assist the EHS team with administrative functions to include the distribution of PPE, OSHA reporting, and management of worker’s comp claims.
- Performs other related duties and participates in various special department projects as needed.
- Associates degree in related field and/or 1-2 years of Human Resources experience
- Ability to work in a high paced environment
- Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred
- Ability to communicate with all levels of staff as well as external customers.
- Exhibits analytical and critical thinking to be able to exercise sound judgement and engage in decision-making in a number of areas.
- Possess the ability to manage and organize projects and to be able to lead and follow through on projects.
- Demonstrates global & cultural awareness as it pertains to the work environment.
- Demonstrates ethical practice which is imperative in dealing with confidential matters and material.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
