About the Job
Primary Accountabilities:
Operational (80%)
Partner with warehouse operations leaders to maintain appropriate staffing levels at each location.
Collaborate with hiring managers to understand the skills and competencies required for openings; assist with sourcing, recruiting, and screening candidate; schedule interviews for as appropriate.
Partner with hiring managers to facilitate a successful interview and selection process.
Monitor background checks and employee eligibility verifications; facilitate new hire orientation and compliance training.
Partner with other teams to recommend, plan and facilitate leadership development training.
Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, assessments and investigations.
Provide associate relations support to all associates at the assigned locations.
Facilitate the benefits annual open enrollment process and ensure 100% of associates are enrolled in benefits for following year by the communicated due date.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practice to maintain compliance.
Provide coaching and support in response to manager and associate requests for assistance in dealing with performance, conduct, and dependability concerns.
Assist managers in proactively addressing associate performance issues through the use of tools such as corrective action and performance improvement plans.
Support the company culture, initiate and support culture-based activities.
Partner with the Corporate Communications Events Associate to cultivate associate engagement at the facilities they support.
Conduct stay and exit interviews.
Submit and manage workers’ compensation claims for the facilities they support.
Analytical (20%)
Maintain and report metrics as related to area of responsibility on exit interviews, stay interviews, associate engagement, headcount, retention, turnover, accident frequency rating, workers’ compensation, etc.
Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Provide recommendations to warehouse operations leadership based on metrics.
Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments, including safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes, assessments and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
Respond to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, supervisors, and managers, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Required Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
Minimum of three years of human resource experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the major responsibilities/essential functions of the position
Bilingual English/Spanish verbal and written language skills is a MUST
Ability to be onsite at local facility daily
Experience or a background in operations management in a production environment is beneficial
SHRM CP or SCP certification or the ability to become certified preferred
Intermediate computer skills in MS Office and Google suite
Ability to meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities including day-to-day tasks and ongoing projects
