One of our clients is seeking a motivated professional to work as a Bilingual Educational Aide School Year 24-25 in the Northern, VA and Washington, DC area.
To provide bilingual instructional assistance in the class room by assisting in a variety of activities including the preparation of instructional materials, presenting classroom instruction, performing various clerical duties, and assisting and supervising the actions of students to enrich the delivery of education to students. The assignments will be consistent with the school statutes, regulations and good educational practices.
SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
*Supports students with diverse needs in a school environment, fostering an inclusive and positive atmosphere. This role involves assisting students with daily activities, enhancing their learning experience, and promoting independence.
*Provide individualized assistance to students with special needs or disabilities, helping them engage in classroom activities.
*Assist with personal hygiene, mobility, and daily living skills as needed, ensuring the well-being of students.
*Support students in completing assignments and understanding instructional material, facilitating their academic growth.
*Implement strategies to promote positive behavior and assist with behavioral interventions as directed by teachers or special education staff.
*Monitor students during class, lunch, and recess to ensure safety and appropriate social interactions.
*Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and parents to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
*Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and any significant observations for reporting purposes.
*Participate in training and workshops to enhance skills and stay informed about best practices in education and student support.
*Primarily in a classroom setting, with responsibilities that may include outdoor supervision during breaks.
CLIENT'S REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
*High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree or coursework in education or special education experience preferred.
* Ability to speak, read and write English and the language representative of the targeted English Language Learners (ELLs) population(s)
*Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs, is highly desirable.
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
*Patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment.
*Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team setting.
*Capability to assist students with physical mobility and engage in activities that may require bending, lifting, or standing for extended periods.
