Bilingual Crisis Therapist - Seneca Family of Agencies

The Bilingual Crisis Therapist coordinates services and planning for children who are referred through social service, probation or mental health departments and are in the process of stepping down from institutional into family or family-like settings. Services will be provided almost exclusively in the community in families’ homes, group homes, foster homes, schools, etc. The primary role is to ensure that all parties are working together toward stability for the child and family. Therapists engage clients in meaningful and authentic relationships while providing a safe, predictable, and positive environment that aligns with our clients’ values and cultures.

ABOUT START

The Short-term Assessment of Resources and Treatment (START) program delivers services to youth and children experiencing significant psychological and behavioral problems that are referred through the Full-Service Partnership of the Behavioral Health Services Department of Contra Costa County. Services will be provided almost exclusively in the community and the client’s home environment in Contra Costa County.

• Promptly meet with clients and caregivers on a regular basis to further treatment goals utilizing culturally informed and best practice modalities.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams for the purpose of care planning and support.
• Collaborate with agency staff, caregivers, other professionals and interested parties to formulate and implement individual client care plans, behavioral programs, and interventions.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with community members and providers, as needed.
• Complete assessment and evaluation process of clients in order to develop and implement the care plan.
• Provide assistance in case planning and consultation to team members on clinical issues, as well as casework issues, as appropriate.
• Chart mental health notes, care plans, outcome measures, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain availability for crisis intervention services, such as on-call rotation, if applicable.
• Participate in individual and/or group supervision.
• Comply with all child abuse reporting and Medicaid/Medi-Cal requirements in accordance with standards set by Seneca.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of client and business operations information.
• Commit to and engage in self-evaluation as well as organizational goals, strategies, and systemic practices regarding diversity, equity and inclusion.

Required:

• Master’s degree in social work/psychology/counseling
• Registered with the BBS: ASW, AMFT, APCC, or full licensed 
• Bilingual in Spanish/English 
• At least 21 years of age.
• TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.
• Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination or an HR-approved medical/religious exemption

Preferred:

• Experience working with children in out-of-home care preferred. 
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to work with a diverse population.
• Good organizational and writing skills.

  • Mon - Fri; 9AM - 5:30PM
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends needed due to client needs
• Hybrid
  • Services will predominantly occur in-person within the Concord/Antioch/Richmond/Martinez community with the opportunity to complete some of your responsibilities remotely
• On-call, scheduled ahead of time with Supervisor

• Starting at $77,080 - $91,080 per year, actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualification
• Additional $4000 salary increase for BBS licensure
• Additional compensation upon passing the bilingual language proficiency exam
