Position Summary
The Community Development Advisor is a dynamic and community focused position that plays a pivotal role in advancing our mission to provide financial empowerment and stability to our members and community. It combines business development and community engagement, along with driving credit union growth and promoting financial education.
Essential Job Functions
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local community organizations, schools, businesses, and non-profits.
- Organize and participate in community events, financial literacy workshops and outreach programs while also promoting credit union services.
- Engage with the underserved demographics of our communities and find ways to make meaningful impacts to improve their accessibility to financial needs.
- Represent the credit union at local meetings, events, and serve on various boards and committees to understand the communities needs while building a positive image within the community.
- Be a thought leader and work collaboratively with Senior leadership to build and implement community development strategies applicable to the credit union, community, and industry needs.
- Work with marketing and business lines to create and implement business growth strategies.
- Generate leads and prospects through relationship building, referrals, and community outreach efforts.
- Analyze market trends, competition, community, and member needs to identify new products or service opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with the marketing team in creating educational materials, videos, or online content as a resource.
- Stay updated on financial industry trends and regulatory changes to provide accurate and relevant information to members.
- Serve as a brand ambassador for the credit union, promoting its values, mission, and commitment to community development.
- Act as a liaison between the credit union and community members, addressing concerns and providing solutions.
- Actively engage in public relations efforts to enhance the credit unions reputation and positive image.
- Serve as back up for business/commercial lending by facilitating interviews, applications, credit analysis and loan closings.
- Perform any other duties assigned by Manager.
- Consistent travel to local and surrounding communities for business development
Pay and Benefits
$54,272.50; Exempt Salaried Position
There may be an increase of base pay based on skills and experience.

- A minimum of an associate degree in business administration, finance, marketing, or closely related field
- 5+ years of industry experience, community involvement and financial education.
- An equivalent or combination of experience and education will be considered.
- General knowledge of Credit Union policies and procedures is required
- Proven experience in business development, community engagement or a related role.
- Demonstrate passion for community involvement and financial literacy.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to credit unions to ensure compliance.
- A high degree of mental concentration to interpret and act upon a wide range of situations, even under pressure.
- Ability to lead and motivate staff to accomplish established goals
- Excellent communication and public relations skills.
- Support with Bilingual communication, both verbal and written.
- Support Bilingual Spanish Communication
- Above average written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of deposit and loan products and office operations
- Ability to work well under in fast pace environment.
- Ability to work independently in the context of strategic goals.

- Accurate and complete information about credit union products and services is provided to members
- Required reports and records are accurate, complete, and timely
- Good business relations exist with members. Member problems and complaints are promptly and professionally addressed and resolved
- Good working relationships and coordination exist with personnel and with management. Appropriate assistance is provided to staff as needed. Supervisor is informed of activities
