About the Job
This is a position in the Big Sky Medical Center Pharmacy in Big Sky Montana. It is for a 36 hour per week position with availability to work Monday thru Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm. Hours of operation could change at any point. Applicant would cover shifts that involve working Outpatient and inpatient functions. Should be available to cover shifts at the Bozeman Health Outpatient Pharmacy as needed. This position offers a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus AND $7.00 differential on top of your base pay amount.
Job Description
Position Summary:
The Big Sky Medical Center Pharmacist - helps provide high quality pharmaceutical services that foster efficacious, safe and cost effective medication use for our patients. Outpatient pharmacist duties include but not limited to accurate verification and dispensing of prescriptions, counseling patients and administration of immunizations. Inpatient pharmacist duties include clinical review and order verification, following pharmacy clinical protocols/policies, drug information for providers and nurses, overseeing central pharmacy activities, providing guidance and oversight for pharmacy technicians. Actively participates in medication safety and quality initiatives. Maintains optimal pharmacy practice through continued growth and development and completes all required CEs for licensure in the state of Montana.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science or Doctorate of Pharmacy
Eligible for Montana Licensure (Pharmacist)
American Heart Association BLS certification required within one year of hire.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required within one year of hire.
Essential Job Functions:
Demonstrates knowledge of EPIC, Outpatient Pharmacy Software, MPDR, Lexi-Comp, and other required software. Demonstrates knowledge and judgement to meet patient medication needs as defined by the provider. Maintains competency and demonstrates knowledge of clinical pharmacy protocols. Interacts with providers and nurses in a professional collaborative manner. Provides accurate and relevant drug information per current standards. Adheres to relevant Bozeman Health policies, procedures and guidelines.
Accurately verifies prescriptions processed by the technicians in a timely manner and provides patient consultation.
Monitors workflow and pharmacy needs for efficient operation. Ability to perform all functions of the pharmacy as needed to provide exceptional customer service.
Oversight of inpatient pharmacy activities and pharmacy technicians. Processes medication orders and monitors workflow activity to maintain timely medication services. Competent in sterile room processes, IV admixture and hazardous medication handling and preparation. Maintain bi-annual PATT/GFS requirements. Demonstrates competency of after-hours procedures for outpatient prescription filling.
Provides drug information to providers, nurses and other ancillary personnel. Actively contributes to medication safety and quality initiatives. Reports adverse events and good catches to the manager or supervisor with all details needed to report on Verge. Identifies areas of improvement and updates for patient care based on national guidelines. Contributes and participates in pharmacy education among peers and students. Encouraged to participate in state and/or national pharmacy associations.
Maintains optimal pharmacy practice through planned and continuous growth and development. Seeks new learning experiences. Meets C.E. requirement. Contributes and participates in pharmacy education. Assumes projects as assigned.

Self-directed, completes assignments accurately, thoroughly and with minimal oversight.
Ability to work varied shifts as scheduled and as needed to staff the pharmacy during operating hours.
Detail oriented, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.
