Position Details:
Loyola University Maryland is seeking a Benefits and Wellness Coordinator. This position will assist in administering the employee benefits and wellness programs. This position works directly with the Director and Assistant Director of Benefits and Wellness. Coordinate enrollments, terminations and changes for health, welfare, wellness and retirement programs. Handle workers’ compensation, FMLA , disability and other benefit claims. Track benefits data and generate management reports. Process deductions and invoices and reconcile billings and/or deposits for insurances, flexible spending accounts, health savings account, tuition remission, 403(b) retirement plan updates and other benefit and wellness programs. Provide timely and accurate front line customer service, responding to customer inquiries. Coordinate benefits orientations, meetings, schedules and events.
Job duties include:
Process health and welfare and retirement enrollments, terminations, COBRA , employee changes, beneficiary requests, etc. Process tuition remission requests, child care vouchers, and other employee benefits offerings. Maintain employee benefit files and update employee payroll records. Enter and code benefits information and deduction codes in HRIS system.
Leave of Absence ( LOA ) Management: Coordinate and manage all LOA requests including but not limited to PTO , FMLA , workers’ compensation disability, etc. Assist employees and supervisors through the process including forms and requirements and/or accommodations for return to work. Process workers’ compensation claims and LOA requests and assist employees and supervisors with the transition to return to work or extending to long term disability benefits.
Schedule benefits related meetings and assemble materials and coordinate all employee events. Prepare materials for in-person, hybrid, and/or virtual new hire benefits orientations, on-boarding and education sessions, and coordinate invitations and attendance.
Meet with employees regarding 403(b) retirement plan options, enrollment, and procedures. Notify employees when they become eligible for employer contributions; distribute enrollment materials as appropriate; respond to questions; refer employees to plan advisors as appropriate. Enter deductions into the system, and submit forms to outside retirement plan vendors for processing.
Bachelor’s degree
1 to 3 years of direct experience in employee benefits (including processing FMLA , LOA , PTO , short- and long-term disability).
