THE OPPORTUNITY
Fisher Phillips is an international labor and employment law firm, and we are hiring a talented Benefits Coordinator to support the needs of the firm. In this role, the Benefits Coordinator will serve as the day-to-day contact assisting lawyers and staff on all matters related to the firm’s benefit programs; process and maintain required information in payroll and vendor systems to ensure accurate record-keeping, proper invoice payments, and appropriate benefit coverages; and communicate with vendors to resolve issues. This role will report to the Benefits Manager. This position requires a hybrid work schedule, you would generally need to be available to work during standard business hours.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee daily processing of benefit changes including new hire enrollments and qualifying life events, life insurance EOI updates, COBRA, terminations, and death claims.
- Provide timely response to benefit inquiries, escalating complex issues to the appropriate level.
- Generate and process monthly accounting reports for HSA/COBRA/FSA.
- Review, audit and approve Weblink payroll updates and make necessary corrections.
- Collaborate with the appropriate vendors and internal personnel regarding EDI file issues and data discrepancies.
- Assists with the annual open enrollment process including preparation of materials, coordination with vendors and assisting employees.
- Ensure timely submission and payment of benefits premium invoicing. Assist in audit and reconciliation, new accounts, etc. and contact vendors to resolve issues.
- Assist with administering wellness program including coordinating wellness challenges, researching information for newsletter, ordering, and distributing prizes, and communicating with participants and vendors.
- Maintain and update benefits information, documents, and processes within the firm’s benefits portal and intranet.
- Manage annual individual disability renewal process.
- Serve as backup for leave administrator, as needed.
- Assess and recommend changes to current processes, workflows, and systems.
- Other duties or special projects, as requested.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience administering health and welfare plans.
- Law firm or professional services experience preferred.
