Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Benefits Analyst to join our Human Resources team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in benefits administration, a deep understanding of employee benefits programs, and leave of absences. The Benefits Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective implementation, communication, and administration of our employee and 3rd Party administrators.
The Human Resource department oversees benefits for approximately 5,000 US employees. Programs for which we are responsible include Health benefits, voluntary benefits, 401(k), Leave and Disability. The Benefits Analyst will play a critical role in enhancing the overall employee experience through efficient and accurate benefits management.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees LOA process ensuring Company policies & Procedures are being followed / administered correctly. Recommends / drafts Policies / Procedures.
- Ensures proper / timely communication / documentation to LOA employees / LOA files for all types of LOA's (e.g. STD / LTD / FMLA/ USERRA / State Disability Programs).
- Clearly explains the interaction of all of the programs / laws to employees / supervisors / administrators.
- Acts as the Company's primary interface with Agencies regarding LOA matters and ensures compliance with all Federal & State regulations.
- Completes DOL forms / State disability forms.
- Completes Employer Statements for each State Disability LOA.
- Receives Medical Certifications / coordinates with insurance carrier.
- Tracks LOA progress / keeps Dept informed about potential Return to Work.
- Provides Life insurance Conversion Notices / Portability Notices / Waiver of Premium Notices for LTD or LOA Termed employees. If employees eligible for COBRA supplement (due to service time) make sure 3rd party administrator is informed.
- Recommends employment termination where LOA employee is non-compliant / non-responsive.
- Ensures company system is updated with proper LOA code.
- Coordinates with WC administrators to ensure proper FMLA notices are issued.
- Maintains LOA files.
- Protects Company from adverse selection.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a variety of Benefits Administration areas, especially in leave of absences
- Strong organizational and planning skills to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Must have excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team-driven environment or work independently.
- Excellent customer service skills are essential to the success of the position Must have proficient computer software skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer
- UKG experience a plus
- Must possess high ethical standards and possess an expert ability to handle sensitive and critical issues while protecting confidentiality.
- Expert ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines while managing internal customer expectations.
- Solid ability to effectively take action to solve problems while exhibiting sound judgment and successful stress tolerance; research issues and problem solve; meets challenges with resourcefulness; develops innovative approaches and ideas.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish), preferred.
