Bench Scientist (Onsite) - The Fountain Group

Immediate Opportunity: ­­Bench Scientist located in Cambridge, MA (Onsite). 

Details for the position are as follows:
Job Description:

• Production of plasmid DNA to support transient recombinant protein expression.
• Conducting routine molecular biology techniques including cell transformations, day cultures, bacterial cultures, Gibson assembly, and digestions.
• Maintaining reagent and DNA inventory.
• Operate and maintain automated liquid handlers for plasmid purification, as well as downstream QC applications like NGS and DNA normalizations.
• Conducting routine DNA characterization and quality control testing using techniques such as gel electrophoresis, fragment analysis, nanodrop, endotoxin testing, and preparation of samples for sequencing analysis (Sanger and NGS).
• Maintaining daily work records in an organized electronic lab notebook. The candidate should also be proficient in using an online database for inventory management.
• Effectively communicating with team members to meet strict schedules and deadlines
• Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40hrs./week
• Pay Rate: $25 – 34/Hour

• Bachelor Degree
• Experience with Plasmid DNA Production
• Familiarity with Sequencing such as NGS or Sanger
• Experience with Molecular Techniques (Western/Southern/Northern Blot, PCR, Gel Electrophoresis, etc.)
• Familiarity with Gibson or Golden Gate Assembly
• Contract to Start, conversion/extension on performance
