The Cliffs Hotel & Spa is continuously growing and expanding! We are seeking a hard-working, genuine, and motivated part-time Bell Staff/Valet who can create a sense of luxury while executing valet parking. We look forward to connecting with you!
Position Summary:
The Bell Staff and Valet Attendants are all guests' first impression of The Cliffs Hotel and Spa and are vital to the success of the property.
You must be 25 years of age or older to drive a company vehicle and transport hotel guests/passengers.
You must be 21 years of age or older to valet and park a hotel guest's vehicle with no passengers inside.

By providing a welcoming atmosphere, handling all guest property with care and always being a concierge, all bell staff are instrumental in making sure all are making lasting, happy memories through genuine service and thoughtful amenities.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- On-site work required
- Must be available to work 2 shifts per week
- Must be available to work weekends, nights, and Holidays
- Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends based on occupancy
- Greet and engage all guests with a welcoming, friendly attitude, showing genuine interest and concern for the guest.
- Must consistently and respectfully personalizes interactions, using the guest's name in accordance with their preference.
- Communicate with guests in an articulate manner, using correct verbiage and avoiding slang
- Opening and closing vehicle doors for arriving guests
- Luggage assistance is immediately offered curbside. Notifying guests that their luggage will be stored in a secure location.
- Ensure luggage arrives within 10 minutes of registration completion. Arriving within 8 minutes of the request upon departure or 5 minutes of a prearranged time.
- Loads and unloads luggage carts and vehicles as needed.
- Escort guests to room, provide room tour and additional assistance as needed.
- Demonstrate genuine sense of interest and concern, and/or anticipatory service when appropriate and helpful; guided by The Cliffs' Mission and Values
- All guest requests must be treated with graciousness, professionalism, and a sense of urgency e.g. running to retrieve a guest's car
- Loading and unloading luggage carts and vehicles as needed
- Issuing valet parking tickets and properly marking any existing damage on guest's cars prior to parking.
- Act in accordance with all company policies regarding vehicle usage
- Safely Park guest's vehicles in valet lot
- Share local expertise when making recommendations to guests through providing first-hand knowledge and testimony, providing directions and transportation options when appropriate
- Drive company vehicles throughout San Luis Obispo County, including daily airport picks ups.
- Comply fully and consistently with all the hotel conditions of employment and standards of uniform, grooming, and safety measures.
- All employees are required to train new hires as necessary.
- Must make manager aware of any guest's comments or complaints, specifically any damage claims
- Communicates graciously and courteously with guests, management and co-workers
- Performs any other job-related task as directed by management.
- Must report any and all moving violations at the time of occurrence.
Qualifications:
- Must provide proof of a clean driving record prior to employment and maintain clean driving record throughout duration of employment
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must have multitasking strengths
- Professional appearance
- Ability to work with people a must
- Excellent command of English language
- Must have the ability to drive vehicles comfortably
- Must be 21 years old
- Must have a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and or 50 lbs frequently and/or 20 lbs of force constantly to lift, carry, push or pull objects
- Ability to stand continuously for duration of shift (6-8 hours a day)
- Ability to walk/run continuously for duration of shift (6-8 hours a day)
- Must be able to continuously run for the duration of shift at a quick pace with stride
- Ability to work in stressful situations
