As part of iCare Health Network -- MissionCare at Holyoke is a long-term care facility with a unique range of residents from long term needs, to memory support and behavioral health care. Our facility seeks a Behavioral Program Director to over see the opertions of the Behavioral Health Unit.
This position is a Monday-Friday role and will work directly under the building Administrator.
Major Responsibilities:
- Coordination and oversight of operations and schedules of a highly structured Behavioral Health Program,
- Monitoring and ensuring the consistency of a therapeutic and safe program environment,
- Periodic and as needed assessment of the behavioral and psychosocial needs of, and benefits from program participation achieved by program-engaged residents
- Ensuring that staff who provide care and services to residents participating in the Behavioral Health Program have had access to sufficient orientation and training to effectively manage behavioral symptoms,
- Designing and implementation of program functions,
- Developing behavioral program schedules,
- Scheduling, conducting and/or coordinating multiple weekly psychoeducational groups for program participants,
- Ensuring that significant behaviorally related assessment and intervention information regarding program participants is forwarded to the interdisciplinary treatment team, the participant’s treatment plan and clinical record,
- Coordinating and oversight of a weekly interdisciplinary behavioral rounds forum.
- Liaison with contracted mental health practitioners
- Collaborating with the facility administration and appropriate department managers re: resources, activities and schedules essential to the operations of the behavioral health program,
- Revising program schedules in order to best meet the collective needs of the behavioral health program participants.
- Responding to clinical emergencies, to assist with regulatory agency visits, surveys and issues
- outside of normal work hours as needed
- Collaborating with BHP participating residents and the interdisciplinary treatment team in developing a Recovery-based plan of care and services for those residents.
- Collaborating with the facility Staff Development Coordinator and Administrator to provide required and as necessary staff training in Behavioral Management.
- Participating in the clinical evaluation and screening of potential admissions to the Behavioral Health Program.
- Collaborating with the facility interdisciplinary treatment team in accessing information regarding, and as appropriate making referral to, community based services for residents who wish to access such services.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in a Human Services field and professional licensure is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in having provided direct professional services to persons with mental health or behavioral conditions in an interdisciplinary treatment setting
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a similar human services field is preferred. A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related Human Services field is required.
- State Licensure for MA, as applicable, is preferred.
- Must have working knowledge (experience preferred) with various software programs such as WORD, EXCEL. Must be able to manage multiple projects and work with all disciplines in a challenging multi-cultural environment. Must be knowledgeable of Quality Assurance/Improvement process as well as state/federal regulations and surveys. Must be able to speak and write the English language.
