Blue Valley Community Action Partnership is looking for a dedicated and compassionate person to join our Head Start / Early Head Start program in the southcentral Nebraska region. This position will work with our classroom and home visiting staff to support their work in the area of behavioral health for children and families. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of children and families in our community.
As a Behavioral Health Officer, you will:
- Work with a team of experts to oversee the mental and behavioral service component of the Head Start program
- Provide training and support to staff, parents, and the community regarding behavioral services for young children (0-5 years old).
- Partner with parents to help them achieve personal and family goals.
- Be an advocate for children’s health, education, and well-being.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work collaboratively with the Children Services Management team to administer comprehensive services for families and children.
- Share oversight responsibility to the mental and behavioral health service area.
- In cooperation with colleagues and partners provide immersive support, training and education to staff and families
- Stay abreast of and promote the latest strategies for the emotional development of children, families, and staff
- Monitor outcomes, make referrals, serve as an advocate for mental well-being
- Model sensitivity, build and foster relationships.
- Communicate effectively and professionally.
- Ensure the operation and maintenance of a safe, clean, healthy, and productive work environment.
- Maintain professional competence through professional growth and development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance of state, federal, and agency regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
- Must have supervisory experience and/or demonstration of successful team leadership.
- Must be willing to submit to required background checks with no adverse findings
- Valid Driver's License
- Obtain CPR and First Aid Certification
- General Computer Skills
