Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group mental health support to adults using a range of therapeutic techniques tailored to meet each person’s unique needs.
- Conduct behavior assessments to identify support needs and collaboratively develop goals with individuals, their families, and care teams.
- Design and implement Behavior Support Programs (BSPs) that encourage personal growth, independence, and adaptive behaviors using positive reinforcement strategies.
- Train and coach care staff, family members, and other team members to ensure BSPs are effectively applied in everyday settings.
- Monitor progress through data analysis and update BSPs regularly to reflect current support needs.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to review and enhance behavior plans.
- Perform observations across residential, day program, and community settings to identify strengths, preferences, and barriers to success.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including assessments, monthly updates, and correspondence with caregivers and providers.
- Provide crisis intervention using hands-off, least-restrictive techniques and verbal de-escalation strategies.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to ensure the delivery of best practices and evidence-based approaches.
- Travel to various locations in the Charleston and Mattoon area with the option to work remotely two days per week after demonstrating independent proficiency.
Schedule:
- 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with flexible start and end times. No nights or weekends required.
Qualifications:
- Certified as a Level 2 Behavior Provider (Illinois DHS-DDD) or BCaBA certified.
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services-related field (Master’s preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other PC-based tools.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance.
- Background check clearance.
- Strong ability to lead trainings, model BSP protocols, provide constructive feedback, and advocate for individuals.
