Department Summary:Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) serves as the campus community mental health center for students. The Department's mission is to support students' emotional and intellectual development, emotional resiliency and personal well-being toward optimizing their ability to thrive in UCLA's diverse learning environment. CAPS psychologists, clinical social workers and psychiatrists provide clinical, outreach, prevention and mental health promotion services. Clinical services are confidential and available to regularly enrolled students.Position Summary:Under general direction of the Executive Director or designee, the Asst. Clinical Director supports the mission of CAPS and the University in providing the highest quality mental health services for the wide range of students at UCLA. The incumbent performs a wide range of complex tasks including counseling and psychotherapy with students; consultation, outreach, prevention, and mental health education on campus; and emergency services. The incumbent participates in meetings and committees; serves as an assigned Case Conference Clinical Administrator/Facilitator; and carries out necessary charting, data reporting, and incident reporting requirements. In addition, the incumbent performs supervision of mental health services; and program development and quality improvement within CAPS clinical services, including group services coordination and coordination of satellite services. The incumbent accepts overall direction from the Executive Director or designee. The incumbent acts in a manner consistent with the APA code of ethics in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA requirements, and in accordance with CAPS Policies and laws governing mental health practices in the State of California.
