Job Overview:
Responsible for providing first contact customer interaction, including opening and closing of Pro Shop, Toptracer driving range bays, booking tee times, checking in guests through the point of sale, selling merchandise, cleaning and stocking the Pro Shop, providing excellent service, food and/or beverage and a fun, clean atmosphere to guests according to the standards and expectations. The Pro Shop Assistant will also be assigned specific, often varying tasks on a day-to-day basis by the Operations Manager or Head Professional of Player Development and should also be able to adapt to meet changing demands and requirements while in the workplace.
Role Accountabilities & Expectations:
BCGC ProShop
- Greet customers, provide prompt, courteous and friendly customer service.
- Manage reservation system, check-in customers, collect fees and assign tee times and Toptracer driving range bays.
- Ensure Toptracer driving range bays are clean and ready for customers.
- Inform players of course rules and regulations.
- Sale of merchandise, maintain inventory records and accurately reconcile cash register sales with daily sales reports.
- Assist in coordinating and providing assistance in tournaments and events.
- Assist customers with all their needs while in the pro shop, ensure inquiries and requests are met efficiently and professionally, ensure complaints are dealt with in a pleasant manner and report to the Manager.
- Maintain the pro shop environment by keeping the shop neat and orderly by general housekeeping duties.
- Accept orders/shipments and stock shelves/racks.
- Answer phones, direct calls and answer customers' questions professionally.
BCGC Service
- Provide friendly, courteous service to all customers in a manner that guarantees they intend to return.
- Ensure customers receive immediate, friendly and personalized services, to include communicating Toptracer driving range instructions.
- Guide customers through menu, answer questions thoroughly and suggest specific items; provide information about venue.
- Delivery accurate orders.
- Communicate and establish rapport with customers and get to know them by name.
- Make customers happy by exceeding service expectations.
- Handle customers' complaints correctly and notify a Manager.
- Present food and beverages to customers as soon as they are prepared.
- Possess full knowledge of food and beverage products served and utilize suggestive selling techniques.
- Conduct a final quality check on food before it is run to the customer; maintain specifications by only serving items made properly.
- Deliver and/or carry (with or without trays) with a sense of urgency to the correct tables.
- Ensure a high standard of service efficiency, sanitation and training.
- Write down all orders and accurately enter into POS.
- Follow all proper cash handling procedures.
- Clear and clean all tables, booths and chairs.
- Keep floor clean and free of debris.
- Use and maintain all tools and equipment safely.
- Complete required and ongoing training for the position.
- Assist management in training new team members when applicable.
- Prioritize and complete all assigned station tasks, side work and station set up for maximum productivity and efficiency.
- Complete all opening, running and closing service duties.
- Maintain work area by organizing and cleaning service stations and pre-bus tables as needed.
- Ask for help whenever it is needed.
- Ensure a harassment-free environment through proper personal conduct.
- Use respectful language with customers, team members and Managers at all times.
- Respond appropriately in emergency situations to avoid danger to self, team members and customers; remain calm at all times.
- Notify Manager/Supervisor of low inventory.
- Understand, comply with and enforce all company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to responsible alcohol service established by company policy.
- Understand and utilize all safety sanitation practices as defined in the safety program; report any accidents.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this job to ensure continuity.
- May be required to work early mornings, evenings, holidays and weekends as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills:
- High school degree or GED preferred.
- Six (6) to 12 months customer service and cashiering experience in a hospitality business or serving industry (preferred).
- Good reading, writing, mathematical and communication skills.
- Able to interact professionally with other departments and outside contacts.
- Demonstrated knowledge of golf course equipment and goods.
- Good judgement and decision-making abilities.
- Reliable transportation.
- Food Handlers and OLCC certifications. Team members are required to obtain cards individually and provide proof of possession prior to the first day of employment subject to local US laws.
- Must remain in compliance with drug-free workplace policies.
Physical Requirements (as required by OSHA and ADA):
- Ability to work weekends, holidays and evening hours as business demands.
- Must be able to spend 100% of working time standing, walking and reaching.
- Pushing, pulling and lifting objects from a lower to higher position or moving objects horizontally, from position to position.
- Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
- Climbing and ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps.
- Must be able to carry loads greater than 15 pounds and exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently.
- Hearing sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
