Battery Test Technician and Engineer
Location: Cupertino, CA
Duration: 6-12 months
Description:
Prioritizes daily tasks based on test deadlines and ensures schedules and quality objectives are met
Regularly exercise independent judgment and discretion to determine appropriate action.
Supports failure analysis efforts, as guided by engineers.
Assembles batteries into carriers for testing using basic hand tools with both hands
Loads and unloads carriers from semi-automated test stations and thermal chambers
Performs mechanical and electrical measurements on devices according to SOPs
Enters data into shop floor system as needed
Reports issues observed in samples, process, or documentation to supervisor
Adheres to safety protocol and lab guidelines
Job duties may require additional work like assisting in organizing of inventory in stockrooms
Requirements:
Possess experience with electrical and mechanical lab measurement equipment (measurement gauges, volt and impedance meters, as well as automated test equipment, etc)
Has a previous track record of success conducting tests - should also be able to process and summarize data
Possesses a high level of attention to detail with handling of samples and test data
Ability to write detailed and comprehensive test procedures (SOPs)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Willingness to work in a repetitive environment
Good organization, time management and decision-making skills
Willingness to adjust workdays in order to meet schedules during high demand times
Experience with battery cycle life testing using Maccor or Arbin testers is a plus
Experienced in handling of Lithium ion batteries is preferred but not essential
Safety training in previous jobs preferred
Experience working with torque wrenches and thickness gauges preferred
Lifting requirement (weight):

Associates degree with 5+ Years Experience in electrical testing of devices (e.g., in medical devices, semiconductors, solar, Aerospace or battery industries)
