Job Title: Mix/Batch Operator
Location: Bridgeton, NJ
Shift: 1st Shift - 7:00am - 3:00pm
Pay Rate: $16.00/hour
Our client headquartered in Greenville, SC, has grown from a corporate mission of being a regional supplier of hot melt and water based adhesives in the southeastern United States, to an internationally recognized manufacturer of adhesives. They have now expanded into the Tri-State Region and are looking for a Batch Maker. You’ll ensure efficient running of production. A batch maker is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. On-the-job training is a good way to discover how to do the job better, so you should havewillingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential since all tasks willrequire close collaboration with co-workers. The goal will be to ensure that productionprocedures will be carried on smoothly to maximize efficiency and profits. Previous batchmaker experience is a plus.

Educational, Mental, or Certification Requirements
Complete high school education or a GED equivalency required;
Demonstrate basic essential mathematical skills of addition and subtraction;
Must be able to work in a team environment.
General Job Duties
- Mix ingredients according to specified procedures and formulas
- Weigh raw materials according to the formula,
- Retrieve supplies from warehouse/storage area;
- Open valves to start pumps to transfer specified amounts and types of liquids fromstorage tanks into mixing tanks;
- Activate mixing tank agitators and set timers to mix ingredients for a specificperiod of time;
- Observe gauge readings on mixing tanks and adjust temperature and flow meter controls when readings vary from established norms;
- Obtain samples of solutions throughout the process to be analyzed for color,viscosity, pH balance, and gravity;
- Maintain knowledge and practice of Quality and Safety Policies, Line Manual BookProcedures, Good Manufacturing Procedures, and Reject Percent (refer to specificdepartment duties);
- Open valves and pump finished formulas into storage tanks/drums or one-handledbuckets;
- Maintain cordial, professional relationship with supervisor and co-workers;
- Practice teamwork, relieve others for breaks/lunches, and assist others as timepermits;
- Complete paperwork;
- Report machine and equipment malfunctions to mechanical personnel.
- Coordinate “changeovers” in production, clean equipment, and perform othercustodial responsibilities.
- Must be able to lift 55 lbs. bags
- Must be able to work in a hot environment.
- Perform other duties as directed.
- Double check EVERY raw material before adding!!!!!!!!
Tools and Equipment Used In Job
- Everyday use of safety scissors, safety knife, wrench, spatula, hoses, metal clamps,pliers, and screwdrivers.
- Everyday use large equipment such as pallet jacks (electronic and manual), andforklift.
Environmental Factors
- Machinery may produce noise levels that exceed OSHA’s action level: Employeesare provided with and required to wear personal hearing protection devises inthese areas;
- Tanks may be hot, therefore creating a potential burn hazard: Protective sleeves may be provided;
- Employees are required to operate forklifts; Palmetto will train
- The processing of liquids and powders may create slippery surfaces;
- All employees are properly trained in use of adjunct lifting/moving equipment andon proper body mechanics.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Standing, walking, and lifting (up to 55 lbs.)
- Must be able to work in a hot environment.
- Client requires the successful completion of applicable pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- No CELL PHONES on production floor!!!!!
- No smoking/vape inside building!!
- Report to manager for any needs including batch process.
