Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled BAS/HVAC Controls Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, programming, and implementing building automation systems to optimize HVAC operations and enhance energy efficiency in various projects including data centers, bioscience labs, and government facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and program building automation systems (BAS) for HVAC applications.
- Develop sequences of operation and ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams to deliver integrated building management systems.
- Conduct system performance evaluations and recommend improvements.
- Create and maintain design drawings, system graphics, and user interfaces.
- Integrate electrical systems and components into overall building automation.
- Work on retrofit projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Participate in the execution of building automation projects on construction sites.
- Utilize software tools such as Microsoft Office, Bluebeam PDF Editor, and Visio for project documentation and visualization.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Control System Engineer or similar role in building management systems.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including VAV air handlers and chilled water plants.
- Experience with function block programming and database management.
- Familiarity with smart building technologies and environmentally friendly building practices.
- Excellent technical communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Valid California Driver's License and willingness to travel to project sites.
