Job Summary:
The Bartender at Swahili Village is responsible for delivering a high-end bar experience that complements our upscale African dining environment. This role involves preparing and serving a wide range of beverages, including cocktails, wine, and beer, focusing on quality, consistency, and exceptional presentation. The Bartender will create a welcoming bar atmosphere, ensure prompt service, and provide guests with an engaging experience that embodies the high standards of Swahili Village.
Key Responsibilities:

Beverage Preparation & Service:
Craft cocktails, mocktails, and other beverages according to Swahili Village’s recipes and quality standards. -
Guest Engagement:
Greet bar guests with a friendly demeanor, answer questions about the drink menu and make recommendations based on guest preferences. -
Order Accuracy & Efficiency:
Accurately take drink orders, process transactions through the POS system, and manage guest tabs while ensuring prompt service. -
Product Knowledge:
To make recommendations and enhance the guest experience, you must maintain a thorough understanding of all beverage offerings, including cocktail ingredients, wine varieties, and food pairings. -
Inventory & Stock Management:
To ensure bar readiness, monitor bar inventory levels, restock supplies as needed, and report any shortages to management. -
Cleanliness & Organization:
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area throughout service, following health and safety regulations. -
Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to alcohol service laws and ensure responsible service practices, checking IDs as necessary and monitoring guest intoxication levels. -
Collaborative Team Support:
Work closely with servers and kitchen staff to ensure cohesive service flow and timely delivery of food and beverages.
Qualifications:

Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a bartender in an upscale or fine-dining setting preferred. -
Skills:
Strong mixology skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, and a passion for guest service. -
Certifications:
Alcohol service certification (e.g., TIPS or SafeServe) is required. -
Personal Attributes:
Friendly, professional, and able to remain composed in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
