Spencer Manor Winery in beautiful Saint James, MO is looking for a Bartender. Must be friendly, punctual, and a team player. Restaurant experience preferred but not required. We are a fast paced, busy restaurant that takes reservations and has a waitlist. Must have weekend availability. Preference given to those with open availability.
Job Requirements for the Bartender position:
- At least 21+ years of age.
- At least 1-year of bartending experience.
- Ability to work nights including weekends/holidays.
- Alcohol and wine knowledge a plus
- Knowledge of Restaurant POS Software
- Ability to understand and work with a sense of urgency.
Job Qualifications:
- Must be dressed neatly and well-groomed in company approved uniform.
- Must be able to operate P.O.S. computer system, make change correctly and make credit card transactions accurately.
- Must be able to deliver plates, food and clear tables, which may require lifting of up to 30 lbs.
- Walk or stand most of a 6-8 hour shift.
- Able to reach, bend, stoop and perform cleaning duties.
- Professional phone skills. Must be able to hear well with loud background noise, in order to answer the telephone and respond to guest requests.
- Must be able to calmly respond to angry guests and notify a manager immediately if the matter cannot be corrected in a timely manner.
- Able to lift and carry supplies and bus tubs of up to 50 lbs. Up to 20 times per shift.
- Must be able to clearly communicate guest’s needs to other employees including cooks, servers, and managers.
Summary of Bartender Responsibilities
Interact with guests to ensure exemplary service in an efficient manner. Take orders, serve food and drinks, answer inquiries about the menu and comply with the wishes of the guest, as well as suggestively sell food and drinks. Work closely with Bussers, Host team and Servers to ensure guests receive excellent service.
Responsibilities | include but not limited
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner with a sense of urgency.
- Prepare drink orders for guests according to specified recipes using measuring systems
- Prepare fresh garnishes for drinks.
- Stock ice, glassware, supplies and stations properly
- Answer questions about food and drinks including entrée ingredients, preparations, and accompanying items.
- Promptly greet newly seated guests in a friendly manner.
- Accurately take orders and upsell menu items such as snacks, small plates, large plates, beverages, and desserts.
- Properly and quickly enter orders on the POS computer system.
- Attend to guests' needs when delivering food and check back with guests to ensure their satisfaction.
- Ensure guests’ expectations have been exceeded. Professionally resolve food or service issues.
- Maintain Bar appearance by pre-bussing, checking drink levels, removing clutter, and providing extra napkins if necessary.
- Promptly accept payment and follow appropriate accounting procedures.
- Uphold and maintain high quality customer service and hospitality.
- Set up & close bar according to opening and closing procedures.
- Keep immediate supervisor informed of significant issues and take prompt corrective action.
- Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working atmosphere.
- Maintain cleanliness and condition of bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools.
- Empty trash, sweep, mop &/or vacuum the restaurant floor when there is no support (hostess, bussers) available.

Pay: $8.00 per hour + TIPS
