Position Summary
The Bartender/Server will prepare and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, take food orders, serve meals, and collect money for drinks served.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities -The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Receives orders from patrons and wait staff.
- Comply with company policies and state/federal laws by screening guests photo I.D.’s to ensure guests are of legal drinking age.
- Ensure bar is properly stocked with fresh garnishes, liquor, and clean glassware.
- Prepare drinks as ordered by patrons.
- Submit orders and requisition forms for bar-related supplies such as liquor and utensils.
- Be knowledgeable of the food menu.
- Adhere to time limits set by supervisors and managers to ensure efficiency.
- Maintain contact with guests throughout their dining experience.
- Ensure all orders are accurately prepared with guests’ preferences and allergies in mind.
- Accept and process guests’ payments.
- Uses proper judgment and, when necessary, refuses service to patrons who are intoxicated or disruptive.
- Submits orders or creates requisition forms for liquor, beer, and other bar-related supplies.
- Perform other work-related duties as requested, to include assisting in activities in the lounge, dining room, and catering.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to speak, read, and write English. Ability to effectively relate to managers, and co-workers.
- Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts and use a calculator.
- Extensive knowledge of drink preparation or service.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and focus on serving customers.
- Ability to remain calm when dealing with unruly and argumentative patrons.
- Ability to learn cash register software used by bar or restaurant.
Education and Experience:
- Completion of mixology, bar keeping, or other related training required.
- At least one year of related experience preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously and maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
- Approach all encounters with guests and team members in attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
- Ability to manage high volume areas, to include dining room, lounge and banquet areas.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and twist, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift, move, push, and/or pull up to 15 pounds. The employee must frequently use computer and other special operating equipment. The employee must be of legal drinking age or older.
