The venue supports and promotes inquiry, the open exchange of ideas, and the power of academic, interdisciplinary convening. The Forum is located at the intersection of East 60th Street and Woodlawn Avenue. It serves as a place where scholars gather and exchange ideas through activities that range from talks and workshops to multi-day conferences that span academic disciplines. The facility provides spaces and amenities that are not currently available on campus, including highly collaborative, well-appointed meeting and event rooms commensurate with the types of conferences, special events, workshops, and meetings that University faculty and academic departments host. The building has a sustainable design target of LEED Gold.Overview:The David Rubenstein Forum seeks to meet the need for a University-wide facility for scholarly and academic discourse on campus. The facility provides spaces and amenities that are not currently available on campus, including highly collaborative, well-appointed meeting and event rooms commensurate with the types of conferences, special events, workshops, and meetings that University faculty and academic departments host. The project has a sustainable design target of LEED Silver. BASIC FUNCTION:
The role of bartender will be to set up and prepare the bar for the restaurant. The bartender will also be responsible for providing guests with exceptional service, requisitioning of beverages, the creation and execution of quality alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages, as well as clear and breakdown of bar at the end of the night.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Serving alcoholic / non-alcoholic beverages and food to customers in a friendly, courteous and professional manner to exceed expectations
• Serving alcohol responsibly only to those who are of legal age.
• Compose and be knowledgeable of standard drinks and liquors or wines specific to restaurant bar.
• Plan and maintain par levels for bar inventory.
• Responsible for cash handling and bank procedures as outlined by the Accounting Department.
• Responsible for learning suggestive selling techniques and using them during services.
• Maintain cleanliness of all workplace areas that apply to the bar. MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
• Maintain open communication with management and other employees.
• Be well organized and efficient.Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE:
• 4 years food and beverage experience preferred, in high volume facility.
• In-depth knowledge in spirits, cocktail techniques, wine, beer and local beverage trends.
• General interest and knowledge of tea, coffee, espresso beverages and coffee equipment.
• Excellent customer service skills. Pleasant and helpful personality.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• BASSET certified.
• Food Handler’s certified.
• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
