The Barback is responsible for assisting Bartenders to provide efficient service to Center guests.
Located in downtown Tampa, the Straz offers flexible hours, event-based schedules including evenings and weekends, and a team-based work environment. Straz benefits for part-time staff include employee discounts and a 403(b) plan.
Essential Functions:
- Assists the Bartenders with providing excellent service to Center guests.
- Ensures the Bartenders are adequately stocked with necessary supplies at the bars. Acts proactively to keep the bar stocked.
- Ensures that all glasses, bowls, and other bar equipment are clean and stowed.
- Maintains cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counter, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas.
- Assists with restocking and replenishing bar inventory and supplies.
- Presents a neat and professional appearance in correspondence with the uniform code.
- Reports any maintenance issues to the Manager on Duty.
- Able to be on feet for a minimum of 5 hours a shift.
- Ability to work in face paced environment.
Education and Work Experience:
- High School diploma required.
- Minimum of one-year experience as a busser, bar back, or server assistant.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Availability to work evenings and/or weekends, as needed.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to determine bartender's needs in advance.
- Basic knowledge of bar set up and vernacular.
