The Banquets Manager will oversee the entire operation of Banquets which includes Conference Planning, Conference Floor Set-up.
REPORTS TO: Director of Banquets, Assistant Director of Banquets
SUPERVISES: Banquet team including but not limited to Supervisors, Servers, Hosts, Porters
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Banquet function areas, meeting rooms and service areas.
Job involves working:
- under variable temperature conditions (or extreme heat or cold).
- under variable noise levels.
- outdoors/indoors.
- around fumes and/or odor hazards.
- around dust and/or mite hazards.
- around chemicals.
- Valid drivers license
- Drive and transport associates/item from Hotel to outside spaces in Trucks and carts

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Employees in Banquets, F&B Outlets - Beverage, Catering and Conference Services, Culinary - Stewarding, Culinary, Sales and Marketing, Purchasing - Storeroom, F&B Cashiers, Finance, Housekeeping, Administrative Offices and Property Operations.
External: Hotel guests/visitors, Banquet Vendor personnel (i.e., florists), Equipment Repair personnel.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist the Director of Food and Beverage and the Director of Conference Services with administrative support. Supervise all budgetary functions and maintain records to support budget objectives. Implement all of Benchmark and the property level policies and procedures. Responsible for the budgetary objectives for all departments and communicating those objectives to the appropriate Directors and the Controllers office. Interview staff for key positions within the area of responsibility to maintain a high level of professionally trained staff. Maintain personnel files in a confidential manner, and deal with confidential information in a professional manner. Ensure accurate client billing systems to maximize highest possible revenue for the Resort. Handling of evaluation process and the discipline of employees. Responsible for 90 day forecasting if Business activity levels in all departments. Responsible for the capital plant of the conference areas and its equipment. Maintain and update all capital expenditures as needed. Control expenditures within budgetary guidelines. Oversee and review all staffing programs within area of responsibility, to ensure maximum guest satisfaction and stay with budgeted guidelines. Supervise Uniform Control and Holiday Reservations departments. Responsible for all holiday programs and assist in the holiday décor program. Development of Theme and Entertainment programs to maximize profits for the property. Attend all meetings as required, including pre-cons, department head, etc. Maintain open communication within the department and with other operation departments. Ensure that all fond and back of the house are maintained in a neat, clean and orderly fashion.
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS
Respond to any reasonable task assigned by Director of Food and Beverage or the Director of Conference Services.
Qualifications:Essential:
High school graduate or equivalent. Two year college degree minimum. 4 year minimum of Banquet and Conference experience/background. Strong organizational skills. Ability to think clearly in an active work environment. Detail oriented. Ability to prioritize work. Adapt to changes and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
PHYSICAL ABILITIES
Essential:
- Exert physical effort in transporting 50 pounds.
- Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
- Reach 2 feet.
- Remain in an up right position for 6 hours throughout work shift.
- Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.

Compensation Range:The compensation for this position is $65,000.00/Yr. - $75,000.00/Yr. based on qualifications and experience.
