SUMMARY:
The Banquet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of banquet services, ensuring that events are executed seamlessly. This includes supervising banquet staff, coordinating with other departments, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining the highest standards of service. The Banquet Supervisor plays a key role in organizing and managing events, from setup to execution, ensuring that all functions run smoothly and according to client specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and lead the banquet service team, ensuring a high level of service during events.
- Coordinate with clients, event planners, and other departments (e.g., kitchen, catering, housekeeping) to ensure all event details are met.
- Oversee the setup, service, and breakdown of events, ensuring efficiency and adherence to standards.
- Ensure banquet staff are properly trained, well-groomed, and knowledgeable about the event details, including menu and special requests.
- Monitor the flow of the event, addressing any issues or guest concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure that all equipment and materials are in good working order for events, reporting any issues promptly.
- Maintain inventory and ensure appropriate levels of linens, tableware, and supplies for banquet events.
- Handle guest complaints and special requests with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
- Assist in event planning and menu coordination, working closely with clients to ensure their vision is realized.
- Ensure banquet areas are properly cleaned and reset after events, in preparation for future bookings.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations during all events.
- Monitor labor costs and staffing needs based on event size and complexity.
- Provide feedback and performance evaluations for banquet staff, identifying areas for improvement and implementing training when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in a banquet or event service role, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple events and tasks simultaneously, ensuring smooth execution.
- High attention to detail, ensuring that all aspects of the event meet or exceed expectations.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to handle difficult situations calmly and professionally.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using event management and point-of-sale systems.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree or related certification in hospitality or event management preferred.
- Food Safety Certification (e.g., ServSafe) or equivalent preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Excellent verbal communication skills in English and Spanish (preferred).
REASONING ABILITY:
- Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, associates, and external partners.
- Ability to work well under pressure and respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations.
