Over the decades, the Club has been a place where Nobel laureates, faculty and numerous other scholars have hosted discussions about topics and ideas that have shaped the world. The Club is housed in a historic facility designed by Howard Van Doren Shaw.Overview:

BASIC FUNCTIONS: Maintain a commitment for guest service with focus on the highest quality food and consistency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for food requisition storage and product rotation.
- Prepare items designated by the Chef according to The Club’s standard recipes and policies.
- Receiving food requisitions, check food products for quality and quantity.
- Inform the Executive Chef or Sous Chef regarding proper preparation and the food requisitioning for upcoming functions.
- Responsible for the care and cleanliness of kitchen equipment.
- Inspect all refrigeration and dry storage for proper handling and rotation.
- Ensure that banquet functions are properly broken down and reusable items are returned to the main kitchen and put on cafeteria shelf.
- Maintain sanitation and safety standards.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
- Respond to any reasonable task assigned by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
- Assist in other areas of the kitchen as needed.
- Knowledge of kitchens and storage areas.
- Knowledge of use, cleaning, and safe handling and breakdown of all equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
- Two years fine dining experience
- Culinary school or related experience preferred
- Valid food handler certificate
- Knowledge of soups, sauces, and cooking techniques
- Advanced knife skills
- Origination and production knowledge
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of culinary department duties
- Creative, innovative positive personality
