SUMMARY
The Banquet Captain ("Capitán de Banquete") coordinates all aspects of the room set-up, break-down, food and beverage service, and banquet personnel so that all efforts are directed towards guest satisfaction and profit maximization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Directly responsible for the satisfactory performance of all banquet and beverage personnel.
- Coordinates all aspects of the room set-up and break-down, and food and beverage service so that all efforts are directed towards guest satisfaction and profit maximization.
- Welcomes our banquet guests with a smile and with a friendly, courteous greeting and assures guest satisfaction by delivering prompt, consistent service in a friendly, efficient and professional manner.
- Leads by example, performs and assists with all duties and responsibilities of the banquet team.
- Solves any discrepancies when they occur in a professional, timely and sympathetic manner.
- Is responsible for leading the completion of all opening and closing procedures.
- Is responsible for complete knowledge of menus, including cooking time, ingredients, etc.
- Reports to the Banquet Manager and Assistant Banquet Manager.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 3-12 months of relevant experience and/or training. If no educational background, at least 1 year.
- Previous similar position in a restaurant or hotel is preferred.
- Experience in dealing with the public is required, such as customer service in retail, food & beverage, hospitality, etc.
- Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
- Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire. Evans Hotels will provide this training and is to be completed at the company’s expense.
- RBS certification required.
- Ability to maintain a friendly, team-oriented, positive attitude and a professional appearance at all times.
- Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
- The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.
