Prepare drink orders for guests according to specified recipes using measuring systems. Issue, open, and serve wine/champagne bottles. Set up and maintain cleanliness and condition of bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools. Prepare fresh garnishes for drinks. Stock ice, glassware, and paper supplies. Transport supplies to bar set-up area. Wash soiled glassware. Remove soiled wares from the bar top and tables and place them in the designated area. Anticipate and communicate replenishment needs. Process all payment methods. Count banks at the end of the shift, complete designated cashier reports, resolve any discrepancies, drop off receipts, and secure the bank. Secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas. Complete closing duties.

The Banquet bartender shall strive to always provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests. They will be responsible for exemplifying the La Cantera Resort and Spa Culture as well as promoting La Cantera Resort and Spa as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Adheres to the steps of service using the service standards manual.
• Enters orders accurately into POS systems.
• Follows all proper bookkeeping and cash handling procedures.
• Ensures all opening, on-going, and closing side work is complete and signed off by a leader on duty.
• Checks guests’ identification to ensure minimum age requirement for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
• Offers creative selling of products to guests.
• Answers questions and/or makes recommendations on menu items.
• Provides general resort information for guests.
• Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell to all guests of La Cantera Resort and Spa.
• including use of guest name & good eye contact with each guest.
• Maintains an up-to-date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events.
• Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information.
• Describes and recommends wine pairings to guests.
• Ensures final quality check on food and beverage before serving guests.
• Accurately prepares guest bills and provides promptly and ensures accurate payment is received.
• Maintains a commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction.
• Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other beverages according to recipe.
• Maintains cleanliness of walk-ins and reach-ins.
• Adheres to all La Cantera Resort and Spa Policies.
• Ensures cleanliness of bar and glassware.
• Takes beverage orders, using the POS system to ring items in.
• Counts money in cash drawers at the end of the shift to ensure the amounts are correct and there is adequate change.
• Ensures end-of-shift bank is balanced with appropriate procedures followed in daily drop.
• Obtain credit cards from the beginning tabs.

• Completion of TABC Certification.
• Completion of Food Handler’s Certification.

• Ability to work under pressure to turn a room into a different function in a short time.

• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to handle guest requests and satisfy their needs.

• Ability to meet physical pressure, Standing for extended period of time.

• Must be able to squat, bend, and reach periodically throughout the shift.

• Flexible working in morning , afternoon, or night-weekends plus holidays.
